Softball: Day One Results Region 18 Softball Tournament
Salt Lake City- Day one of the Region 18 Softball tournament finished with all the top teams advancing in the double elimination bracket.
Southern Nevada took the first game of the day in extra innings over North Idaho 8-7. Snow College easily handled Western Nevada 15-4 in game two.
Host team and #1 ranked SLCC battled to a 3-1 victory over Southern Nevada. Brooke Budge blasted a two run home run to put Salt Lake up three. Ariel Zimmerman and MaCauley Flint combined for the win.
In the final game of the day Southern Idaho outlasted Snow College 5-1 to advance to the semi-final game. Alyana Watson blasted a two run home run to put Southern Idaho up four.
Western Nevada and Southern Nevada will do battle in the losers’ bracket tomorrow at 9:30 am with the winner advancing. At noon North Idaho will face Snow with the loser going home. The semi-final match up will start at 2:30 with #1 SLCC facing #2 Southern Idaho.
The winner of the Region 18 Tournament will advance to NJCAA Nationals in St. George, UT on May 17-19th
