SALT LAKE CITY – Leading No. 8 SLCC to a four match sweep in the Region 18-Region 9 Clash, sophomore outside hitter
Carol Grasso has been named as the Scenic West Athletic Conference Player of the Week.
Over the four matches this past weekend for the Lady Bruins, Grasso (Sao Paulo, Brazil) appeared in 15 sets. In those 15 sets she racked up 53 kills leading to a .282 hitting percentage, 89 digs, two assists, and two blocks. Her 53 kills and 89 digs led her to average a double-double with 13.25 kills per match and 22.25 digs per match.
The reigning Region 18 Player of the Year and NJCAA First Team All-American Grasso and the rest of the SLCC volleyball team will now look forward to Friday, Aug. 29, as they play host to the Crystal "Inn"vitational featuring 11 teams eight of which being nationally ranked in the top 20. SLCC's opening match in the "Inn"vitational will be Friday at 10 a.m. against No. 2 ranked Iowa Western Community College inside the Lifetime Activities Center located at the Redwood Campus.
