Softball: SLCC Softball Claims Region 18 Crown

Salt Lake City- The Salt Lake Community College Softball team claimed the Region 18 title with a 10-4 win over Southern Idaho in the Region 18 Championship game at Bruin Field. The Bruins move to 55-7 overall this season with the win.
Salt Lake fell down early in the game with Southern Idaho striking in the first inning off a pair of SLCC errors. However the Bruins would settle down and take the lead in the fourth with a six run inning. Ariel Zimmerman got the win going five innings striking out four; MaCauley Flint got the save going two innings with three k’s. Meagan Neilson blasted a three run home run in the sixth inning to put Salt Lake up six with three outs remaining. Maddy Woodard finished the game 3 for 4 with three RBI.
The Bruins advance on to the NJCAA National tournament in St. George, UT on May 17th -19th.
