Eagles beat Badgers; move to 3-0 in SWAC

The Utah State Eastern women's basketball team traveled to Ephraim, Utah, to take on rival Snow College in a Scenic West matchup.

The Eagles opened the game with an early 9-5 lead and quickly built their lead to seven as the first quarter finished with a 19-12 USU Eastern lead. The Badgers answered back in the second period by outscoring the Eagles by three points. Eastern, however, entered the half with a 31-27 lead. Skylie Barker led the Eagles with 10 points at the break.

The third quarter was tightly contested, but the Eagles were able to stretch their lead to seven, carrying a 44-37 lead into the final period. Despite a late push from the Badgers, USU Eastern made clutch free throws down the stretch to solidify the 64-58 win.

Marlee Pieper led the Eagles with 19 points and 18 rebounds. Skylie Barker contributed 18 points to help the Eagle offense.

With the win, the Eagles move to 3-0 in conference play. They will next take the court on Thursday, Jan. 15, against the North Idaho Cardinals.
