The Utah State Eastern men's soccer team welcomed the No. 16 Salt Lake Community College Bruins for the first Scenic West Athletic Conference matchup of the season. The Eagles and Bruins faced off in Price for the Eagles' first home match of the season.

The Eagles and Bruins battled for the first 35 minutes of the first half, but it was a goal by Andrew Guizar, in the 38th minute, that gave Eastern a 1-0 lead that held until the end of the first half. The goal was Guizar's first of the season.

Eastern controlled most of the possession to start the second half, but a handball in the 75th gave SLCC their equalizer. Just 10 seconds later, Noah Heil found the back of the net on a rebounded save. Heil's first goal of the season gave Eastern a late 2-1 lead.

Hoping to hold the lead, the Eagles played well defensively until the Bruins broke through and scored to tie the game at two goals apiece. Despite both teams having chances in the final minutes of the match, the two teams battled to finish with a 2-2 draw.

Next for the Eagles is a trip to Rangely, Colorado to take on the Colorado Northwestern Community College Spartans. Kick-off is scheduled for Thursday, September 10 at 3:30 p.m.
