Golden Eagles falter on opening day at nationals

YUMA, Ariz. - The College of Southern Idaho Softball Team fell to Navarro College 5-1 Monday to open the NJCAA Division 1 National Championships.
The Golden Eagles had chances at the plate, stranding 9 runners over the seven innings, but couldn't get more than one run across.
Alyce Archuleta had the one RBI with a bases loaded walk. Anslie Yazzie led CSI with two hits and Adi Hansen finished 1-3.
On the flip side, the Golden Eagles posted a couple errors that gave Navarro an additional two runs.
Eva Stoddard earned the loss, giving up three earned run in the first four innings. Emerson Fuller pitched the final three innings, giving up no runs with one strikeout.
CSI, 40-15 overall, will take on the loser of Northwest Florida State and Southern Union State Tuesday at 5:45 p.m. PT in a loser-out game.
