RANGELY, Colo. - The College of Southern Idaho Baseball Team saw its 28-game win streak come to an end with a 7-0 loss in game one but started a new one with a 9-4 win in the second game Friday of Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
The Golden Eagles couldn't get their bats going in the opener, putting up just two hits - one by Trey Purser and one by Noah Gatti. Kyson Giles took the loss, going 3.2 innings and giving up five earned runs on five hits with four strikeouts.
Game two was all CSI as the Golden Eagles finished with eight hits and scored nine runs before CNCC got on the board.
Stockton Fowlks was 2-for-3 with two RBI. Both Cooper Scott and Ryder Cutlip hit hoe runs. Crew Secrist was 1-for-3 with a double and two RBI.
Degan Ribgy got the win, pitching five innings and giving up one earned run on three hits with eight strikeouts. Kaleb Doty pitched the final two innings, giving up two runs on four hits with one strikeout.
CSI, 30-6 overall and 6-1 in conference play, finishes up the series Saturday with a single nine-inning game.
