The Utah State Eastern softball team made the Scenic West Athletic Conference postseason tournament as the No. 4 seed. Their first task was an opening matchup against the hosts, Salt Lake Community College.
Salt Lake CC started the game with five runs in the bottom of the first inning. Eastern was unable to generate any runs, stranding five runners on base. The Eagles fell 9-0 in the tournament opener. Lexi Hardman had the Eagles' only hits of the game, posting a 2-3 performance at the plate.
Because the tournament is double elimination, the Eagles had to rebound the next day against No. 3 seed Snow College. The loser of the game would see their season come to an end.
Unfortunately for the Eagles, the game against Snow was eerily similar to the SLCC game. Snow opened with two runs in the bottom of the first, and four in the bottom of the second. Eastern was unable to find a groove in the box, falling to the Badgers, 9-0. Ainzleigh Quinn had Eastern's only hit in the game.
The loss marks the end of the 2025-2026 season for USU Eastern softball. The Eagles finished 16-30, and 9-23 in conference play. The 16 wins this season were an improvement of last year's 9.
