OXFORD, Ala. - The 13th-seeded College of Southern Idaho fell to eighth-seeded Trinity Valley on a walk-off hit Wednesday at the NJCAA Division I JUCO World Series.
The Golden Eagles led 6-4 with the bases loaded early in the day but the game was halted for seven and half hours due to a rain delay. CSI was able to plate two runs when play resumed but Trinity Valley answered with three and then scored two in the seventh to take the win.
Maile Ha'o ended the game 1-for-3 with a double and two RBI. Rilyne Keck was 2-for-3 and Jade Romero and Adi Hansen were each 1-for-3.
Marissa Mauger pitched the first 3.1 innings, giving up three runs on four hits with three strikeouts. Ella Farrell, Emerson Fuller and Sophia Bristow all pitched in the game for the Golden Eagles.
CSI ends its season with a Scenic West Athletic Conference Title, a Region 18 Championship, its fifth straight national tournament appearance and a 43-13 overall record.
