GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO- No. 8 seed Salt Lake (4-1) bounced back against No. 9 seed Lake Land (2-0) winning 12-2 in seven innings. The Bruins lost 11-9 to the Lakers on Monday in each team's second game.
RHP Jaxon Grossman (2-0) was brilliant once again as he struck out seven batters in six innings of work. Grossman surrendered six hits, two earned runs, and had zero walks.
Salt Lake scored two runs in the top of the first without getting a hit. The Bruins boosted the lead to 5-0 after a solo home run from LF Chandler Reber and a two-run home run from RF/CF Hudson Manwaring in the top of the second. Manwaring now has 17 RBI in the tournament and is one RBI from tying the JUCO World Series record.
Lake Land got their only two runs in the bottom of the second. After both the third and fourth innings were scoreless, Salt Lake added two more runs in the fifth. The Bruins scored on a sac-fly from Reber and on an error.
Salt Lake added on five insurance runs in the top of the seventh to put them in run rule territory. 1B Jalen Seward and DH Avery Doezie recorded back-to-back RBI doubles with two outs.
SS Jake Olsen went 3 for 4 for the Bruins with a triple. RHP Dan Brousseau pitched a scoreless seventh inning to seal the win. Salt Lake committed zero erros. Lake Land committed three errors which led to two unearned runs.

The Bruins are now (4-1) in the JUCO World Series. The Bru Cru will play the winner of Walters State vs McLennan. A couple implications are on the line. SLCC will play at 7:00 on Friday or Saturday depending on the result of the other semi-final.
