TUCSON, Ariz. - The College of Southern Idaho Baseball Team battled with 21st-ranked Pima but came away with 2-1 loss Saturday in a non-conference matchup.
Pima scored on run in the third and one in the fourth before CSI scored one in the seventh off a Trey Purser home run. The Golden Eagles had two runners on with two outs twice late in the game but couldn't plate another run.
Kyson Giles took the loss on the mound, pitching five innings and giving up two runs on three hits with four strikeouts. Kaleb Doty pitched the final three innings, giving up no runs on two hits with three strikeouts.
Stockton Fowlks finished the game 1-for-1 with two walks, Stetson Critchley was 1-for-1 and Tayson Howard was 2-for-4.
CSI, 0-3 overall, takes on Pima Sunday in a single nine-inning game at noon.
